Dan Vallejo is a composer, conductor, and orchestrator whose body of work includes music for film, television, and new media.


In recognition of his artistic contributions and cultural impact, Dan was awarded the Youth Award in Mexico (2024) and named to Forbes Latin America’s 30 Under 30 list (2025).

His film credits include Maria Paula Izaguirre’s Infinitas and Mr. Bold, written and directed by BAFTA Newcomer Aiman Mimiko. He contributed music to Arte y Abastos, a documentary exploring how art transforms people’s relationships with their culture in Latin America’s largest market. He also co-produced the main theme for Unwrapped Sex, a bilingual (English & Spanish) podcast dedicated to the research and dissemination of information related to sexology. His work has been screened at international festivals including the New York African Film Festival, the Columbia University Film Festival (Los Angeles and New York editions), the Africa International Film Festival in Nigeria, Berlin’s SINEMA TRANSTOPIA, and at Mexico’s iconic Estudios Churubusco.

Born and raised in Mexico City, Dan began his musical journey early, studying classical guitar and piano. He performed in several editions of the International Cervantino Festival and played violin with the Mexican Metropolitan Orchestra at TSBA. He studied at TSBA Arts Academy, Veerkamp Academy, and under composer Milo Coello. He later earned a degree in Film & Media Scoring with a minor in Writing for Television & New Media from Berklee College of Music, as well as a background in Music Production & Engineering from Rec Música Centro de Estudios Musicales. After graduating, Dan joined Bleeding Fingers Music, Hans Zimmer’s Emmy-winning and BAFTA-nominated composer collective, assisting Emmy-nominated composer Kara Talve (The Simpsons, Prehistoric Planet, Faraway Downs). As technical score engineer, he has overseen studio operations and contributed to productions including The Simpsons, the Emmy-nominated The Americas (NBC/BBC), the Emmy-nominated The Tattooist of Auschwitz, and the upcoming AppleTV+ series Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age.

Beyond music and film, Dan is passionate about astrophysics and aspires to score a film about space. He currently resides in Los Angeles, CA, where he enjoys frequent visits to the California Science Center and the Samuel Oschin Planetarium.
